Course content
This two-day training course covers the fundamentals, technology, and best practices of leak detection. Participants can apply their newly acquired knowledge in a practical session. Upon completion of the course, attendees will be able to systematically inspect vacuum systems and vacuum pump units for leaks.

Use of different tracer gases in addition to helium
Leak detection methods:
a) At atmospheric pressure (helium sniffing, accumulation method)
b) Under vacuum (helium spraying, integral and partial leak detection)
Presentation of selected test methods according to DIN EN 1779
Practical exercises on common test methods
Influence of environmental parameters such as materials, temperature, humidity, conductance, outgassing, etc.
Application examples of learned leak testing methods
Interpretation of real-time leak detector signal graphs
Testing of participants’ components (upon prior arrangement)
Practical application of leak detection tasks in different areas (coating systems, large-scale research, heat treatment)
